A few days ago, I had the privilege to attend Publishing Leaders’ Meetings for the three Americas, organized by the General Conference Publishing Department. It was very encouraging to hear that between the South and Inter-America Divisions, over 50 million copies of The Great Controversy have been distributed in 2023.
A fellow publishing leader shared with me a wonderful story about Dr. Liliana, a lawyer in Colombia, who received the GC from one of her customers. She read the book in three days, even skipping meals to delve deeper into the truth. After three days, Dr. Liliana reached out to her Adventist customer to ask for more copies; she wanted to share them with all the judges and lawyers she knew. After a few months, her eighteen-year-old daughter, a law student at the university, also read the GC and began sharing it at her university.
By the time Liliana and her daughter were baptized in the SDA church, they had distributed over 200 Great Controversy books. They are determined to share the book with all the influential people in their area and sphere. By faith, I can envision many people like Liliana all around North America finding the truth and sharing it with others until this continent is lightened with His glory.
SOLI is partnering with over 17 conferences this year from all around the country to train and mobilize members in those conferences to distribute the Great Controversy to as many people as possible, as soon as possible. We believe that there is no other book, besides the Bible, that presents the Three Angels’ Messages in a clearer and more compelling way. We are also witnessing that mobilizing members is generating a revival at all levels of the church. The following quotes are great inspiration to our ministry:
“In a special sense, Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world as watchmen and light-bearers. To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining the wonderful light from the Word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import,—the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels’ messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention.” (Ev 119.3)
“I am more anxious to see a wide circulation for this book than for any others I have written, for in The Great Controversy, the last message of warning to the world is given more distinctly than in any of my other books.” (Letter 281, 1905)
Friends, let’s join hands together in this God-inspired mission of placing a book in every home in North America by 2026, thus giving an opportunity to every single person to hear and understand the Three Angels’ Messages while it is day.
