A group of missionaries (about 15 in total) from the Southern California area made the trek to Aztec, New Mexico on Friday, June 21. Starting off with a supper, vespers and training, the team had been anticipating God’s abundant blessings as they bathed this trip in prayer. Barry and Lisa Krall coordinated the trip and arranged to have missionaries stay in a few church members’ homes  where gourmet plant-based meals were served. The missionaries felt richly blessed.

Each day started with an hour of prayer, followed by breakfast, training, and five to six hours of distribution, testimony time, and supper. Our associate director for evangelism, Stephen Gutierrez (with wife and son), shared his enthusiasm from what God did in the hearts of the church members, missionaries, and community members! Fast-forward three and a half days later, and nearly 3,000 copies of The Great Controversy and health magazines were distributed, hundreds of people were prayed with, and more than 30 people have committed to Bible study!

Each night was filled with dozens of testimonies. Volunteers met community members who had been to the church a long time ago. Others they met were looking for Bible Studies for their kids, or were looking for a new church, or were excited about getting their questions answered from the Bible. Truly, these missionaries made an impact—not only on the community but also within the local church. The project is said to have helped unify their congregation. We praise God for the opportunity to work with this local church, the missionaries involved, and the community of genuine seekers.

What if we did more mini-mission trips like this? Let’s continue to make an impact for Christ in our communities!
