Nnalu Nwagwu, a member of the Houston Central SDA Church and a volunteer for the Houston Mission Trip, shared of a remarkable divine appointment that resulted from missing a scheduled medical appointment.

Divine Appointment“I want to thank God for His mercies today,” Nnalu shared during the Wednesday night testimony hour of the Houston Mission Trip. “I left here and I went to my appointment, but there was an accident on the way so I missed my appointment.”

Nnalu described making it to the office and briefly engaging with the medical assistant who informed her that she would need to reschedule the appointment. After checking in with the receptionist, Nnalu turned to wait in the lobby while the receptionist worked on rescheduling options.

“So now I’m in the lobby with just two copies of The Great Controversy,” Nnalu shared. “So I gave one book to a woman who was sitting in the lobby.”

The woman accepted the book, opened it, and immediately and started reading it.

Nnalu, delighted, didn’t want to miss the opportunity to ask the woman if she was interested in Bible studies or prayer.

“Would you like me to pray with you about anything?” Nnalu asked.

The woman politely declined, sharing with Nnalu that she was waiting for her sister. The woman then looked down again at the page she had started reading. When Nnalu asked her about her interest in Bible studies, the woman seemed torn from the page.

“No, no, I’m okay,” she replied. “I’m liking this book.”

Noting that the woman wanted to read the book in peace, Nnalu praised God and left to wait for the medical assistant to come back to confirm her rescheduled appointment time.

When the medical assistant returned, she told Nnalu, “Sorry, I couldn’t do anything. We have to reschedule you for early May.”

Nnalu accepted the new appointment date, and then sensed another opportunity.

“That’s fine,” Nnalu replied. “Do you know anyone who’s stressed and anxiety or maybe experiencing depression?”

The medical assistant looked at Nnalu.

“Did you come in here reading me somehow?” was her reply.

“I didn’t, I didn’t,” Nnalu assured her. “It’s the Lord, I’m telling you.”

The medical assistant then discreetly shared her phone number with Nnalu and her appointment card.

“She wrote me her number and her name, and she said she wants to have Bible studies,” Nnalu shared. “So, that’s why I went to an appointment that I missed.”
