Dear Friends and Supporters,
Someone recently asked me, “What do you love most about Streams of Light?” My answer was simple: “That God allows us front-row seats to watch His miracles unfold.” And truly, during these past four years, miracle after miracle has confirmed that this is God’s movement, not ours.
-
When we needed to print two million books in 2023, God provided the paper and funds right when it was most critical.
-
When we needed a warehouse, He opened the way for a 64,000 sq. ft. facility in Tennessee.
-
When we needed a home for a missionary training center, He placed a 1,200-acre campus in Michigan into our hands.
-
When we needed staff and finances, He sent faithful workers and generous supporters at just the right time.
Every step forward has been marked by God’s unmistakable providence.
A New Chapter: The BASS Campus
This spring, in the span of just one week, multiple people asked if Streams of Light would consider taking on BASS Memorial Academy in Mississippi. At first, we felt our responsibilities were already great. Yet as the Lord opened doors and confirmed His leading through the mission-driven spirit of the Gulf States Conference, it became clear that this was His next assignment for us.
Through their generosity and commitment to seeing mission thrive, the Gulf States Conference agreed to sell the property to SOLI for a symbolic amount. And so, what was once BASS Memorial Academy will soon become the Streams of Light International BASS Campus—a fully dedicated center for missionary training and practical education.
This 380-acre property is a remarkable gift from God. It includes housing for 180 students, a gymnasium seating over 1,000, 14 staff homes, classrooms and offices, an FAA-approved airstrip, a lake, and nearly 40 acres of blueberries. Everything needed for a thriving school is already in place!
Preparing Missionaries for a Lifetime of Service
Our vision is not only to extend our Comprehensive Evangelism Course to BASS Campus, but also to establish an ESL School and a Trades School to equip missionaries with practical skills for self-supporting ministry.
- Trades for men: Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Welding, Diesel Mechanics, Farm Management
- Trades for women: Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Management, Accounting, and more
The Spirit of Prophecy counsels us to prepare young people with both missionary zeal and practical skills, and this school will make that vision a reality.
We are planning to close on the property in December 2025 and begin development immediately.
Light Squads: Mobilizing the Church
Another powerful initiative on the horizon is Light Squads—teams of church members who will be trained and mobilized to distribute The Great Controversy on a regular basis. We believe this has the potential to activate thousands across North America and beyond. I will share more about this movement in my next update.
New Leaders Joining the Mission
God has also brought dedicated leaders to help carry forward this expanding work:
James and Dani Harley, with daughters Lauren and Layla – BASS Campus Director / Vice President for Operations
James Hartley was raised a Roman Catholic and re-introduced to Jesus through an Adventist family running an organic farm in Italy. After receiving training at Wildwood Health Institute, he served as director for Wildwood’s College of Health Evangelism before becoming the co-founder and president of LIGHT, a ministry that has trained over 35,000 thousand church members across 90 countries on how to use health ministry to lead people to Jesus. Most recently, James served as executive vice-president of OCI (Outpost Centers International).
Bill and Denise Polk – Trades School & Campus Development Directors
Bill Polk has a passion for integrating technical expertise with business leadership to drive successful projects. His background includes engineering, project management, contracts, sales, and education. He previously served as Vice Principal, Registrar, and Teacher at Weimar Academy for two years. He and his wife Denise currently live in Northern California. They have two adult sons. Bill is innovative, well-organized, and has a strong commitment to ministry and leadership development.
Dietmar and Delia Butscher, with their daughter Lydia – Director of SOLI Europe
A passionate and mission-driven leader, Dietmar has served as Director of Evangelization for the Swiss-German Adventist Conference (2022–2025). He also worked closely with SOLI on the Liechtenstein mission trip. With a heart for inspiring and engaging people, he previously initiated JAWE (local GYC) and brings strong intercultural skills from living in France, England, Greece, Italy, Poland, Sri Lanka, and Argentina. Trained in global mission, management, and languages, Dietmar is recognized for his motivational leadership, open-minded personality, and deep commitment to advancing the gospel.
Moving Forward Together
Friends, none of this would be possible without your prayers, your encouragement, and your sacrificial giving. You have been the human channel through which God has answered our every need. As we step into this new chapter, we invite you to continue partnering with us in faith.
We believe the Lord is preparing a generation of workers to finish the work. With your continued support, the vision of “One Book in Every Home in North America and Europe by 2030” is within reach.
Thank you for standing with us. May we all be faithful witnesses of His miracles until the day we see Him face to face.
With deep gratitude,
Oleg Lotca
President, Streams of Light International
