Dear Friends,
As I write this letter, I’m on the plane, returning from a busy and productive trip to Europe.
As you may know, Streams of Light International (SOLI) has expanded its vision to:
“One Book in Every Home in North America and Europe by 2030.”
This is a God-sized vision—only through His miraculous intervention can such a bold goal be achieved.
This expansion-preparation trip in Europe began with the OCI Convention at the Herghelia Lifestyle Center in Romania. Over 200 participants attended the four-day event. I had meaningful and strategic interactions with individuals who are vital to our mission in Europe.
I had productive conversations with both presidents of the European Divisions. I also met with the president of the Greek Mission, who shared that Greece has a population of over 10 million but fewer than 500 Adventist members. We discussed the potential of organizing a mission trip to Greece in July 2026.
Additionally, I spoke with the leader of the Impact Generation youth project—a movement involving hundreds of young people organizing mission trips across Europe. They expressed strong interest in potentially partnering with SOLI for a major mission effort in 2026, which could bring hundreds of volunteers.
Following the OCI convention, I met with Reinhard Schwab, president of the Austrian Union. We discussed the possibility of holding a mission trip in Vienna in July 2026, a project for which there was significant interest.
I also had the privilege of visiting Bogenhofen Seminary in Austria, where I presented to the seminary students. A group of students was inspired by the concept of door-to-door outreach and is planning to begin distributing The Great Controversy in a nearby town. They are also eager to join our mission trip next year.
Next, I traveled to Rome, where I visited the Italian Union headquarters and met with Pastor Andrei Cretu, president of the Italian Union. We explored the idea of organizing a mission trip to Turin—a city with deep Waldensian history and evangelistic legacy.
From Italy, I flew to Spain, where I had the honor of speaking for Friday night vespers at Sagunto Adventist College and preaching at a Romanian church in Madrid on Sabbath. I also visited the Spanish Union office, where I had an inspiring meeting with Pastor Oscar López, president of the Union. Both he and Pastor Gabriel, the Union’s Personal Ministries Director, expressed strong interest in hosting a mission trip—potentially in Madrid in July 2026.
Lastly, I returned to my homeland, Moldova, where I spoke at the largest Adventist church in the capital city. In the afternoon, we conducted training and a large-scale outreach distribution of The Great Controversy. The Lord blessed the effort, and within just an hour and a half, hundreds of books were distributed to homes, accompanied by several meaningful interactions. (Special thanks to the volunteer drivers who helped ensure that my tight meeting schedule was met and that much important work could be accomplished on the road.)
I’m praising God for the incredible opportunities He has provided to expand His work in Europe. I look forward to seeing how He continues to open doors and prepare the way.
In the meantime, I want to invite you to join us in praying for these upcoming European mission trips. We will be hosting special prayer initiatives leading up to each one, and your prayers are needed. I also encourage you to prayerfully consider joining one of these trips. Together, through prayer and action, we can help finish the work—one book at a time.
Warm regards,
Oleg Lotca
President, Streams of Light International
