PULLMAN, MI. — The work of reaching every home in Chicago with the everlasting gospel is gaining momentum through Impact Chicago, a three-year comprehensive evangelistic initiative mobilizing churches and ministries in a united effort to share the Three Angels’ Messages throughout Chicagoland.
Led by Streams of Light International, in partnership with the churches within Illinois Conference and Lake Region Conferences, the initiative will implement a coordinated strategy of prayer ministry, literature evangelism, Bible studies, health evangelism, community outreach, public evangelism, and ongoing personal follow-up.
In establishing a sustained evangelistic presence throughout the city, Impact Chicago will strengthen local churches and equip members to actively participate in sharing the gospel, rather than focusing on a single event or outreach campaign.
“We’ve been counseled to work the cities,” said Johnny Henderson, Streams of Light International VP for Ministries. “With 80 percent of Americans living in urban areas now, large-scale comprehensive evangelism is needed more than ever.”
A United Approach to Reaching Chicago
Reaching Chicagoland requires more than one method of evangelism. By bringing together a variety of ministries and forms of evangelism, the Impact Chicago initiative is geared to engage communities, build personal relationships, and connect individuals with local churches for continued discipleship.
An important emphasis of the project is the collaboration that will support local congregations who serve as centers of evangelism in their communities. Through training, coordinated outreach efforts, and intentional follow-up, participating churches will have opportunities to build lasting connections with the people they reach.
“What God is preparing to do in Chicago is something He wants to do in every city,” said Oleg Lotca, President of Streams of Light International. “He is ready to pour out the Holy Spirit upon His people. When we have a burden for souls and when we follow His methods, He produces the results.”
Impact Chicago Rally to Unite Churches and Volunteers
Churches, supporting ministries, and individuals interested in participating in the initiative are invited to attend the Impact Chicago Rally on November 21, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at North Shore Church.
“Come, discover how you and your church can benefit and participate in this project,” said Lotca.
The rally will introduce the vision behind Impact Chicago and invite attendees to explore how they can contribute to the citywide evangelistic effort.
The initiative draws inspiration from a statement by Ellen G. White concerning the potential impact of united evangelistic work in the cities:
The work in the cities is the essential work for this time. When the cities are worked as God would have them, the result will be the setting in operation of a mighty movement such as we have not yet witnessed. –MTC 28.2
“All across Chicago and the surrounding communities, there are people searching for hope,” said Elder Ted N. C. Wilson. “As our world becomes increasingly uncertain, millions are searching for something they can hold on to. More than a century ago, Ellen White described what could happen when God’s people seriously engage the cities. This is a call for all of God’s people to work together.”
