Streams of Light International (SOLI) is launching a new initiative called Light Squads—a movement designed to mobilize small, Spirit-filled teams to bring the everlasting gospel to every home through the pages of The Great Controversy.

SOLI’s mission expanded to include Europe as a mission field, and now works to place The Great Controversy in every home across North America and Europe by 2030. With more than 127 million households in the U.S. alone, this task was heavy on the minds of SOLI’s team. But as Associate Evangelism Director Andre Waller shared during a recent meeting with veteran mission supporters, “We’re not trying to get a few people to do everything—we’re rallying many hands to do a little. Many hands make light work.”

What Are Light Squads?

Light Squads are small, nimble outreach teams—between two to five people—organized to share truth-filled literature in their communities. These groups can consist of friends, families, or church members who commit to going out together, praying together, and working together to reach the homes around them.

Unlike large conference-wide distributions or citywide mission trips, Light Squads are designed for consistent, grassroots evangelism. They form the “tip of the spear”—seeding homes and hearts with the everlasting gospel and paving the way for connecting their communities to Bible studies, health seminars, and public evangelistic meetings.

A new Rally Point app will serve as the digital home for this initiative, connecting squads across the country and tracking real-time progress. The app will let team members check in during outreach, track which streets have been covered, communicate for safety, and see “light points” appear on a digital map as books are distributed. It will also offer built-in training resources, health and evangelism podcasts, and live readings of The Great Controversy—fostering both community and accountability.

The Pioneer Phase

SOLI recently recruited the first 100 volunteers to serve as Pioneer Light Squads. These pioneers will test the systems, offer feedback, and help refine the model before it scales nationwide in 2026.

The initial commitment is simple yet powerful:

  • Distribute 50 books each month for three months (roughly 2.5 hours of outreach monthly)

  • Use the Rally Point app to log activity and locations

  • Engage in ongoing training and share feedback to improve the system

Participants may form their own small Light Squad or help their church become a designated Lighthouse Church—a local base for coordinated literature outreach.

Coming Soon

The Advent movement is not about waiting for pastors or major events to finish the work. It is about ordinary believers stepping forward in faith. As one leader put it, “We are those angels in Revelation 18, carrying God’s message to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.”

Light Squads represent a simple, scalable way to light up communities with God’s truth. Stay tuned for more information related to this key initiative.
