Every Home of the West Coast

Your one-stop location for The Great Controversy Project

Ready to Reach the West Coast?

Join us on November 18th this year as the churches of multiple conferences throughout the Pacific Union engage in hand-delivering The Great Controversy within their communities simultaneously! We are inviting every church in the Pacific Southwest to participate. Just imagine the incredible impact we can make when we unite and share the everlasting gospel across this portion of the west coast simultaneously! Will you join us in this endeavor? Will your church get involved?

“The Great Controversy should be very widely circulated….I am more anxious to see a wide circulation for this book than for any others I have written; for in The Great Controversy, the last message of warning to the world is given more distinctly than in any of my other books.” – Letter 281, 1905

Thrive Magazine (English/Spanish)

In the writings of Ellen G. White, we are told that medical missionary work is an effective way of reaching hearts and preparing them for accepting the gospel. Thrive magazine is designed to be a companion to The Great Controversy; providing an entering wedge for you to share the health message along with the three angels’ messages. The premier issue, themed “Coping in the Midst of Crisis,” explains how the pandemic has affected mental health across North America and how to cope with it using God-given natural remedies.

 The Great Controversy (English/Spanish)

In light of current events and all that is going on in the world we have developed a new cover that draws the minds of people from the conflict to the future peace. With embedded QR codes, this full edition of The Great Controversy makes it easy for you to read, watch, or listen to the content within each chapter. This combination of the physical book with digital content makes this version more appealing and engaging to a wider audience.

What is the cost for each packet?

As outlined in the proposal, each packet consists of one Great Controversy book, THRIVE mental health magazine, and a doorknob bag. Normally, the cost per packet is $2.20. However, through our partnership with the conference, you have the exclusive opportunity to purchase them at just $1.25 per packet, with no minimum or maximum order amount required!

How many packages should we purchase?

The number of packages a church should order depends on several factors:

1. The total number of church members.
2. The number of households in the surrounding communities of the church.
3. The church’s specific goals, whether for a long-term or short-term project.
4. The church’s budget.

If volunteers are working individually, each volunteer should on average distribute approximately 20 books in one hour. If volunteers work in pairs at each door, the average distribution would be 20 books per pair per hour.

To determine the appropriate allocation of time for distribution and the number of volunteers required, you can use the following formula:

Total number of books / books per hour (20) x hours = number of volunteers needed

For instance:

3,000 books / 20 (1 hour) = 150 individuals or 75 pairs of volunteers
3,000 books / 40 (2 hours) = 75 individuals or 37 pairs of volunteers
3,000 books / 60 (3 hours) = 50 individuals or 25 pairs of volunteers

What is the price for shipping?
Shipping costs for your order will vary based on the quantity and distance. We are dedicated to finding the most efficient and affordable shipping options for you.
Will anyone be available to come train us in person?

Unfortunately, due to the significant number of churches participating in this event, we are unable to be present in person on November 18th. However, we have prepared comprehensive training content for you to review and share with your church. This will ensure that everyone is fully equipped to successfully undertake the project. We value your commitment and dedication, and we are confident that with the training materials provided, your church will be well-prepared to make a significant impact.

Why does the proposal indicate to assign a church representative?
To ensure a seamless shipping and receiving process for your church, we kindly request that you provide us with a designated contact person. This individual will serve as the point of contact for any changes, unforeseen circumstances, or general confirmation of details regarding your order. Additionally, this contact person will receive important communication leading up to the event, ensuring that they are kept informed and up-to-date. Having a dedicated point of contact will greatly contribute to effective coordination and communication between our teams and your church.
Are the materials packed already?

As mentioned in the proposal, each packet includes one Great Controversy book, THRIVE mental health magazine, and a doorknob bag. These items are not pre-packed together, so it will be up to each church to coordinate packing times with their members.

We strongly encourage each church to include an evangelistic flyer in every packet. This flyer will help inform the community about the visit and is a valuable opportunity to invite them to local church programs and initiatives. It’s a simple yet effective way to engage with the community and extend a warm invitation.

Please refer to the Misc. section in the training resources above to access a sample flyer that can serve as inspiration.

Why is the deadline to order October 31st?

To ensure sufficient time for churches to receive and prepare the materials before the outreach date (November 18th), we have set a deadline for placing orders a few weeks in advance. This timeline allows for smooth logistics and ample preparation. However, if you are unable to meet this ordering deadline, there’s no need to worry! We can still accommodate your request and ship the materials to you. It simply means that you will need to work efficiently to prepare the materials once they arrive. We understand that circumstances may vary, and we are here to support you in any way possible. Together, we can make a powerful impact, even with a tighter timeframe.

What if I don't see maps for my church?

If your church is not listed, don’t worry! Simply email training@streamsoflight.net with your church name, conference, and your contact information. We understand the importance of getting outreach maps to every participating church, and we will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Rest assured, we will do our absolute best to ensure that you receive the necessary resources for your church’s outreach.
