Are you up for a challenge? Join us on this incredible mission trip to Houston, Texas on April 25-29, 2023! We are looking for missionaries bold enough to help us distribute 40,000 Great Controversy books and make a real difference in people’s lives! Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to serve and share the love of Jesus Christ.

What to bring

- Backpack for book distribution or a rolling bag

- Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, etc.)
- Comfortable shoes for walking
- Modest, comfortable, and weather appropriate clothing
- Clothing for rain (just in case)
Registration options
- Standard registration: $100 (includes three plant-based meals a day, and local transportation)
- Group registration: Groups of 4 or more (with you included) receive a discount and get $20 off for each adult. Three plant-based meals a day, and local transportation are included.
*In order to register as a group, each registrant must sign up on the same form. To add another person, click “add group registrant” near the bottom of the form. In the event that a group has three or fewer members, or all members are not signed up on one form, the discount will not be applied.*

Note: Starting March 31, registration will increase to $150.

Accommodations
The place we recommend for all of our volunteers to stay for this mission trip is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites: Address is 9120 West Road Houston, TX.
Double Queen standard, and suite room types are available. We also receive free parking, free breakfast, and complimentary wifi.
The regular cost is $110+ per night. However, with SOLI you will be able to get rooms for only $79 a night!

Since each room is a double queen, we recommend missionaries share rooms to split costs. Once you register you will have access to other missionaries for rooming.
Important!
The deadline to book your hotel room is April 16, 2023. Any reservations made after this date will still be bookable at the discounted rate, as long as the hotel has rooms available. Please note that you will have to use your own personal credit card for incidentals upon arrival, in addition to lodging. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, to avoid any fees, you will have 24 hours before check-in to cancel.

What is the objective of this mission trip?
To distribute tens of thousands of Great Controversy books, Thrive magazines, and GLOW tracts. This will give many homes in the city of Houston an opportunity to know Christ through the three angels’ messages.
What is the cost for registration?
The fee is $100 for every standard and local (with meals) adult registrant. Children ages four and below are free. Children ages 5-12 are $50, ages 13-17 are $75, and anyone 18+ is charged as an adult. If you need help fundraising, download the sample fundraising letter that you can send to your friends, relatives, local church members, or post it on your social media sites.
Note: the registration fees for both standard and local registration (with meals) will increase to $150 on March 31st.

Where will the event take place?
How will meals work?
Three vegan meals per day (Wednesday – Sabbath) for mission trip participants during their stay will be provided by Streams of Light International. Sunday will conclude with a breakfast.
How will I get to Houston
Participants will cover their travel expenses to and from Houston. Plan to fly into George Bush Intercontinental Airport. From there SOLI will provide shuttles to transport participants from the airport to the hotel. More information coming soon.
