One book in every home in Silicon Valley 

Over the next three years, we plan to place one copy of The Great Controversy in every home in Silicon Valley, and we need your help! Please join us from August 30 – to September 4, as we hand-deliver tens of thousands of Great Controversy books throughout the city of San Jose, California. Time is short, Jesus is coming soon, and now, more than ever, The Great Controversy matters. 

What to expect

  • Amazing divine appointments and experiences as you labor for the salvation of others

What to bring

  • Water bottle 
  • Backpack for book distribution or a rolling bag
  • Flashlight 
  • Bible 
  • Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, etc.) 
  • Comfortable shoes for walking
  • Sunblock 
  • Modest, comfortable, and cool clothing (summertime)
  • Clothing for rain (just in case)

Registration options

  • Standard registration: $200 (includes three plant-based meals a day, and local transportation)
  • Group registration: Groups of 4 or more (with you included) receive a discount and only pay $100 for each adult. Three plant-based meals a day, and local transportation are included.
  • Local participant without meals: Free (local transportation included)

  • Sabbath only: Free

Note: Starting August 15th, registration will increase to $250.

Accomodations

The place we recommend for all of our volunteers to stay for this mission trip is the Hyatt Place Hotel. Address is, Hyatt Place San Jose Airport-82 Karina Court, San Jose, CA 95131 

There are both king and double queen room types available (with pull-out couches). We also receive free parking, buffet breakfast, and shuttle service to and from the airport. 

The regular cost is $163 -$186 per night. However, with SOLI you will be able to get rooms for only $115 a night!

FAQ
What is the objective of this mission trip?

To distribute tens of thousands of Great Controversy books, Thrive magazines, and GLOW tracts. This will give many homes in the city of San Jose an opportunity to know Christ through the three angels’ messages.

What is the cost for registration?

The fee is $150 for every standard and local (with meals) adult registrant. Children ages four and below are free. Children ages 5-12 are $50, ages 13-17 are $75, and anyone 18+ is charged as an adult. If you need help fundraising, download the sample fundraising letter that you can send to your friends, relatives, local church members, or post it on your social media sites.

Note: the registration fees for both standard and local registration (with meals) will increase to $200 on August 1st. Starting August 15th, registration will increase to $250.

What about accommodations?
We have been searching for every option possible for this event. We have looked through campgrounds, retreat centers, hotels, and more. The absolute best thing we could find is a hotel.
 
After talking with 15+ hotels we have been able to come to a conclusion on the best option. The best offer came from the Hyatt Hotel, right near the airport.  – Hyatt Place San Jose Airport-82 Karina Court, San Jose, CA 95131

The regular cost is $163 -$186 per night. However, SOLI will provide everyone with a discount link in order to reserve your room which will make the cost per night only $115!  


Discounts are offered between the dates of August 30 – September 4. If you are needing to come later or earlier call the hotel (all information is in the link) to see how they can work out special accommodations for you at the discounted rate.
 In order to save costs, you can share rooms. In king-sized rooms, you can fit up to 3 people, in double queens you can fit up to 5 people. If you need help finding a roommate(s) reach out to us.

How will meals work?
Three vegan meals per day for mission trip participants during their stay will be provided by Streams of Light International.
How will I get to San Jose?

Participants will cover their travel expenses to and from San Jose. You can fly into the Norman Y Mineta San Jose International Airport.
